  1. Hi All I have been looking at vacation packages for New York City, as I have a few days of "use or lose it vacation time" to burn before October 4th. In any event for the past few days, I have been researching a number of sites including Priceline, Expedia, Marriott, and United to name a few. I was really looking to stay below $2000 and on Saturday I thought I had something for around $1400 or $1500 on Priceline for the same hotel listed below (very much excited). This did not work out, as I got an error telling me that all rooms for the hotel at this price were sold (very much bummed). Today I decided to look at Orbitz for kicks and giggles thinking that they would be more than my budget would allow, although that was not the case. I was able to get a room at the Hilton Garden Inn New York/Central Park South-Midtown West, which looks like a nice hotel in a good neighborhood. My package included airfare from Casper, WY on United via Denver to LaGuardia. Below are the details of the air/hotel package I booked through Orbitz for less than the hotel alone. Orbitz air/hotel package $1930.80 Hotel via Hilton.com $2038.45 (more than I paid for my package) Airfare via United.com $425.15 (Orbitz promoted the airfare, as free and I guess they were right) Total for separate air hotel $2463.60 Savings $425.15 I also did a quick at Priceline for the same hotel/flights and I would have to pay $2090 ($160 more than my package). I am very happy with the price I paid and glad I researched one last sight.
  2. After doing lots of research I decided to book this deal with the HOTWIRE link on this site for the dates listed above. This hotel features the following amenities: Free wifi Fitness center Boutique hotel Business center Pet friendly Restaurants Smoke free rooms Below is my rate information (including taxes/fees paid to Hotwire): Hotwire Hot Rate: 436.28 IHG website rate: 532.46 Savings 96.18 The above rates however do not include a daily resort fee of around $23 or parking fees, but I sam still happy with my deal. Also I would note that I found a better rate on Trivago via Trivago Book & Go, but decided against this rate. Trivago uses Algotels for its Book & Go rates and my research shows many unhappy customers. As stated above I like this deal, not only for the price but also for the location as it close to Coors Field and I am going to a Rockies game or two while in Denver.
  3. After researching a number of sites I decided to book a 3* hotel in the central area of Galveston, TX for the dates listed above using the PRICELINE link on this site. I was able to get an ocean view with 2 queens beds for 156.00 + taxes/fees at the Holiday Inn Express - Galveston Beach. This hotel features the following amenities: Free Wifi Breakfast included Fridge Microwave Fitness center Beachfront Restaurant Below is my rate information (all rates include taxes/fees). Priceline Express Rate: 370.02 Priceline VIP Rate: 397.98 Savings: 27.96 IHG Website Rate: 442.00 Savings: 71.98 I am happing with the hotel, as I like the location and price. It is close to the cruise port, as well as a number of eateries and shops. On a side note I did look into booking this hotel, as part of package with airfare, but the price was only better if I opted for a basic economy ticket with United. Instead I booked my flight directly via the airlines website.
  4. I booked a post flight stay at MainStay Suites Denver International Airport on October 4, 2023 for 1 night for a 2 queen bed suite. I booked for $128.01 including taxes on the Choice Hotels website after starting my search at Hotwire and Priceline via the links on this site. The latter 2 sites were close to $10 more, despite having lower room rates, as their taxes/fess were more. It seems as though lately I am not finding the best rates, especially on express deals or hot rates.
  5. After using the Priceline and HOTWIRE links to look at express deals for hotels in downtown Denver next month (July 30-August 02, 2023) I found the following. Priceline VIP deal: Home2 Suites by Hilton Denver Downtown in a Queen 2 Bed City View Studio Room Price per night $147 Subtotal $445.83 Taxes/Fees $1119.19 Total: $565.02 This is vs a total $662.82 via the Hilton website. The different will help to cover the parking the fee at this hotel. I have stayed at this hotel before and was happy with my room. Should be even better now that the breakfast bar is open. Also should note that my reservation with Pricelines is refundable, while the rate with Hilton is not.
  6. I am posting a very late update. National treated this reservation like I booked it through them and because I am an Emerald Club I was able to just wake out to parking garage and select the car of my choice. This made my reservation through Hotwire an even better deal. I am hoping to find something this good for next trip to coming December.
  7. Hey all I hope I am posting to the right forum. If not I am sorry. In any event I am posting this message, as I booked an air/hotel package for $4 pp more than the airfare alone via PRICELINE using the link on this site. Below are the details of this deal. CPR to LAS on DL with hotel at the Palace Station - 12/04/22-12/08/22 for $515 for 2 adults. This is compared to booking each item separately. Airfare alone via DL: $504 Hotel via their website: $323 Toal for both: $827 Savings: $312 I think I got my mom a great deal, as she paid for the trip, as a nice early Christmas gift for me and a birthday gift for her. I am hoping to do, as well on our rental car, although the rates aren't to my bank account's liking. I may book just refundable car rental and continue to search for a better price until we leave for our trip.
  8. Using the PRICELINE link on this site I was able to book a studio suite with 2 queen beds for the price listed below with the amenities also listed below. Looks like a good deal to me. Price Breakdown Subtotal: $125.00 Taxes & Fess: $28.97 BB Coupon: -$15.00 Total: $138.97 Hotel website: $169.99 Savings: $31.02 Amenities: Free Wifi Free Parking Free Breakfast Fridge/Microwave
  9. Hey all I just planned a spur of the moment trip with my mom to Las Vegas for her birthday next week. When I go by myself I often using public transit, but this time decided to rent a car, as we are staying west of the strip at the Palace Station. In any event after checking multiple sites I settled on a $18/day rate through Hotwire. I got a midsize car with National. Below are the details. Hotwire: $17.69 x 3 days : $53.07 Total with taxes/fees: $106.65 National website: $99.17 x 3 days: $297.51 Total with taxes/fees: $408.66 While I was hoping to rent my car through Hertz, as I like their Gold Rewards program and ease of picking up my car, I could stomach the rates they were offering. In addition I also checked on rental locations near the hotel, but most were not open on Sunday (would use the free hotel shuttle and pick up the car the next day). In any event I do like the rate offered through Hotwire and like that is not with one of the cheaper/cut rate rental firms.
  10. Hey all, I was able to get the Four Points by Sheraton $61 + an additional 10% off for a total of $71.87with taxes/fees by using the PRICELINE link on this great website for this coming Sunday. This price is cheaper than the regular rate without tax of $79 at other websites. Below is a list of the amenities supplied by Priceline. Casino Restaurant Fitness Center Handicapped Rooms/Facilities I am pleased to get this hotel at this rate, as they were building this property when I was in Deadwood last year at this time.
  11. I had a few days from work, so I decided to make an impromptu trip to Colorado (I live in Wyoming). I am spending one night in Black Hawk, while the first night will be spent in Broomfield. I was able to get to a nice rate for the hotel listed below. 2.5* Comfort Suites Broomfield base rate: $130.00 tax/fees: $28.37 total: $158.37 This look like a nice hotel at a great price, as the Choice Hotels website wants over $180 + taxes and fees.
  12. For the past few days I have been doing some research for a room in downtown Denver for the first part of next month, as I am going to a couple of Colorado Rockies games. After using the links (HOTWIRE, PRICELINE, and so on) on this site to check room rates for June 1-3 I opted to book the Home2 Suites by Hilton Denver Downtown Hotel via Expedia. I was able to get this hotel for the following rate. nightly rate : 100.29 taxes/fees: 31.59 total: 232.17 The Hilton website has the hotel listed at $153 a night, so I am very happy with my deal.
  13. Hi all I am posting this deal on behalf of a friend. I helped him to get the following hotel using the PRICELINE link on this site. New York New York for October 25-30. Daily room rate: $31.00 Total with taxes and fees: $376.80 (after $25 coupon code I had). This is best deal I have seen on this hotel that I have stayed at in the past. The MGM Resorts website wanted $43 a night and and Priceline was showing a non-express rate for $31, but he could not use the coupon. I tried to get them to stay at the Vdara where I am at for these days, but he is on a very tight budget. In all I think he got a great deal on a nice hotel.
  14. I am posting another follow-up, as I found an even better room rate via the PRICELINE link on this site. I was to get the same type of room at the same hotel for less. Below is my new room rate information. Daily rate: $55.97 Total with taxes and fees: $607.30 vs $665.65 Just telling anyone that pays to shop around, especially after you have booked a refundable room rate.
  15. I forget to post this along with my hotel deal for my upcoming Las Vegas trip. Well in any event I used the discounted Delta gift cards I bought at Raise to buy an airline ticket for this trip. I was to book my ticket for $185.20 (really $154.01 considering I did not pay full price for the gift cards). This fare is very good considering that my local hometown airport is often pricey, due to the lack of competition. In past I have seen airfares for closer to $300 or $400 roundtrip, so I am happy with my purchase. I also was able sell the remaining portion on the gift card to a friend, so I ended up with nothing to lose. On a side note I very excited, as I get to fly through the new Salt Lake City airport. Also, all of the gates will now have a jet bridge and I will get to avoid the bus to/from my plane for my Casper flight.
